A Mile a Day in May!
Walk a mile (or more!) a day this May to raise money for SFAC
*** BREAKING NEWS ***
A very generous supporter has agreed to match the first £5,000 raised. That’s right, your donations will be doubled!
If you thought The Proclaimers* were making a big statement when they sang “I would walk 500 miles,” then we’re about to make an even bigger one!
With your help, we’re going to walk 5987 miles 😱.
And we’re going to raise £1 for every mile…
Why 5,987 miles?! This May we’re going back to where it all began in honour of our 20th birthday…
That’s right, with your help we’re going to cover the distance from Leeds, UK, to Sao Paulo, Brazil, symbolically following in the footsteps of our founder, Mick Pease and his wife, Brenda, whose time in Brazil planted the seed for what was to become SFAC.
Of course, they were smart and flew but where’s the fun in that?!

There are so many ways to get involved:
🌟 Walk & Donate
Commit to walking (or rolling for our wheelchair-using friends!👨🏿🦼) each day during May and make a donation according to the distance you cover (For example: walk A Mile A Day in May and donate £1 for each mile – 1 mile x 31 days =£31).
🌟 Walk & Fundraise
Set a mile and a money target to reach in May. Set up your fundraising page (instructions coming soon!) and crowdfund support! You can do this as a team or on your own – it’s totally up to you! Your walk, your way…
📏 If you’re more metrically minded, try 2K a Day in May – it rolls off the tongue just as nicely and you’ll even cover a little more ground!
👥 Don’t want to go it alone or can’t manage a mile on your own? Sign up with a friend or four (or even more)!
🐶 Or if your dog is walked each day maybe your dog could cover the miles and be sponsored instead!
🏃🏾 Walking not your thing? We’re open to other options, too – running, swimming, cycling… Or perhaps you could add some vertical miles and try a skydive!
The options are endless and we’re looking forward to seeing how you get creative with it!
